Spreading awareness around lead poisoning prevention, and education as a tactic for that prevention, is a crucial part of the Junction Coalition's mission. However, like all types of education, different audiences learn in different ways. As a result of our partnership with the Center for Disease Control, we have developed a Lead Cultural Competency Training which discusses both signs of lead poisoning, and the best practices for educating the public on the topic. The purpose of the presentation is to empower community members, especially those who engage with young people, to be advocates for lead poisoning prevention in a manner which is as accessible as possible.
